Skills (IA)
Skills are instructions that teach Biggy how to complete a task or format a deliverable. A skill can include guidance, example queries, and an output structure so Biggy responds consistently and follows your organization's standards. You can author your own skills and version them over time, or start from a Biggy template and tailor it to your organization.
From the Skills page, you can browse and create skills, customize Biggy-managed skills, and co-author skills with Biggy.
Skills are available in the web app at Manage > AI Capabilities > Skills.
Key features
Create custom skills that capture how your team wants tasks handled or artifacts formatted.
Start from a managed Biggy template and customize it for your organization.
Help Biggy recognize when to use a skill by adding example queries in your team's everyday language.
Reference integrations, capabilities, and other skills so Biggy can use the relevant tools and information when completing a task.
Experiment privately with personal skills, then propose them to your organization.
Navigate the Skills workspace
The Skills page is organized into three tabs, a search and filter row, and grouped lists of skills.
In the upper-right corner of the page, click + Create Skillto create a skill. See Create a new skill for instructions.
The three available tabs are:
Your Skills: Skills that are available to your organization, including custom skills copied templates. The count next to the tab reflects how many skills are currently in this view.
Skill Library: The full catalog of skills you can browse and copy into your organization.
Proposals: Personal skills that have been proposed to your organization and are waiting for a decision.
Your Skills
The Your Skills tab displays skills available to your organization and your personal skills.
Each skill appears as a card.
A card shows:
Name: The title of the skill.
Status: Whether the skill is enabled or disabled. A disabled skill is not available for Biggy to use.
Origin: Whether the skill is custom or copied from a template.
Version: The current version of the skill, for example
v1.Description: A short summary of what the skill does.
Tags: Labels such as Investigation or Reporting that help you organize and find skills.
At the bottom of each skill card, select Configure to open the skill in the editor, or select the Delete icon to remove the skill.
Use the controls above the skill list to narrow what you see:
Search skills: Enter a term to filter the list by skill name or description.
Origins: Filter skills by their source, such as custom skills and copied templates.
Status: Filter skills by status, such as enabled or disabled.
Sort: Change the order of the list, for example to show recently updated skills first.
Biggy managed skills
The Biggy-managed skills (active by default) section lists skills that Biggy maintains for you. These skills work out of the box, and Biggy keeps them current, so no setup is needed. Each managed skill shows its name, an origin badge, a status, a short description, and a toggle to turn it on or off.
To tailor a managed skill, select Customize. Customizing a managed skill creates an editable copy for your organization. The copy becomes the managed version for your organization.
Skill Library
The Skill Library tab contains Biggy-authored templates. Customize a template to create an editable, versioned copy in Your Skills.
To create a copy of a skill, select + Customize and follow the steps to Complete the Skill Details.
Proposals
When someone proposes one of their Personal Skills, it shows up in the Proposals tab for review.
Click Open and Test to open the skill creator screen and preview it.
Admins can click Promote to make the skill available to the organization, or click Decline to remove it from the proposals queue. A declined skill remains in the creator's personal skill list.
Create a new skill
You can author a new skill from scratch and shape it in the skill editor. To create a new skill:
In the upper-right corner of the Skills page, select Create Skill.
In the Create a skill window, enter a Name for the skill. For example,
Generate RCA.Select Create & edit.
Biggy creates a draft and opens it in the skill editor so you can fill in the details.
Complete the skill details
The Skill details section defines how Biggy recognizes the skill and decides when to use it.
Complete the following fields:
Title: The name of the skill. This can be up to 50 characters.
Description: A short summary of what the skill does, up to 500 characters.
When to use: A description of the requests that should trigger this skill, up to 500 characters.
Example queries: Real phrasings a user would type to trigger the skill. Biggy uses these to recognize matching requests, so include the words people actually say. For example,
troubleshoot the errors in the payments serviceorwhy is checkout failing right now?. Select Add example to add more phrasings.
To make the skill available to Biggy, turn on the Enabled toggle at the top of the Skill details section.
Add instructions
In the Instructions section, enter the knowledge and guidance Biggy follows when this skill is selected. This is where you describe how the task should be handled, what to include, and any rules Biggy should apply.
Define an output structure
The Output structure section is optional. Use it when a skill produces a deliverable and you want Biggy to follow a specific layout, such as the section layout of a root cause analysis (RCA) document. Define the template Biggy should populate, including headings and placeholders.
Leave this section blank for guidance skills that do not produce a formatted deliverable.
Reference your tools and other skills
The References section lets you connect a skill to integrations, capabilities, and other skills, so Biggy can use them to complete the task. Referenced items are highlighted in the list.
To add a reference, type @ in the Instructions or Output structure fields and select the item you want to reference. Turn on the Only referenced toggle to show only the items you have already referenced.
Add tags
Tags are optional labels for organizing and analyzing skills. Tags have no effect on how a skill is run.
Built-in tags: Select from the standard tags, such as Reporting, Investigation, Analytics, Artifact Generation, Knowledge Retrieval, and Automation.
Your organization's tags: To create a custom tag that you can reuse across skills, enter a tag name in the field and select Add.
Co-author a skill with Biggy
The skill editor includes a co-authoring panel that lets Biggy help you build a skill. Biggy can investigate with your real tools and apply edits directly to the skill form.
At the top of the panel, switch between two views:
Build: Work with Biggy to shape the skill. Ask Biggy how to structure the skill, and it can apply edits to the fields for you.
Preview: Preview the skill.
To co-author a skill:
In the skill editor, make sure the Build view is selected.
In the message field at the bottom of the panel, describe what you want. For example, ask Biggy to write routing hints, suggest example queries, or investigate a workflow and draft instructions.
Review the edits Biggy proposes and adjust as needed.
To start over, select Reset to clear the co-authoring conversation.
Review version history
Each skill is versioned. In the skill editor, the header shows the most recent editor, the date and time of the edit, and the current version.
Select History to review previous versions of the skill.
Save the skill
After completing the skill, select Save skill. Turn on Enabled to make the skill available to Biggy.
